A Better Place

A Better Place

You and me, baby please, try to understand what we both need.
Don't look at the ground but hold your head up and believe in me.
I've found an angel in this imperfect world that I plan to keep.
But we must work together so that our hearts can remain at ease.

These complications drive me towards an un-easy state.
I give my all, time and time again, only to receive a similar slate.
Some would consider it progress and some would call it fate.
Were we meant to be or is this all just one big mistake?

Take my hand and trust me to lead you onto a better place.
We can love and continue to love with willingness to win the race.
My heart strives for positivity and happiness in your life.
Regardless, you continue to live unhappily tonight.

Sing your sad songs of depression in a world of negativity
As I continue to ask for strength to keep you and me on our feet.
With the intention of staying with you, I find it harder and harder.
How long can I give you all that I have with such unfair barter?

Perhaps I live a perfect life and you, my dear, attempt to.
But hang on alongside me with a better try to make it through.
Together we can work things out and continue our long-lasting dream.
We can grow and transform into something even more beautiful, never before seen.
Believe me.

By my side, alone tonight, we can sit and watch the stars shine bright.
I can dig your hand out of the sand and wash away your old life.
I'll paint you a picture of days we'll remember so we can smile together.
But all in all, when sky starts to fall we will have lived as one, forever.
