Out of the Sky and Up Off the GroundA Poem by LlamaLordA poem about breaking addictions and getting out of old habits.
My wings begin to send me downward towards the ground.
My heart beats fast as my high starts to surface down. Hurry and run to the addicting substance that makes you yourself. Life without such a thing can cause your surroundings to melt. The room catches fire while your body turns to worthless ash. Your friends, locked outside, watching you burn and your life flash. Go ahead, fill me up another cup and load me a few more bowls. A perpetual high and a reoccurring buzz keep me at the bottom of this hole. There is a way up, but my friend, it is a rough climb. For you must give up all that you've kept and jump-start onto a strong vine. Good luck finding them. There are few out there that can hold you weight. That can help you and teach you to clean and fix your broken slate. Keep reaching for new heights and accomplishing forgotten goals and someday, you will overcome and escape out of all of those deeply dug holes. © 2010 LlamaLordAuthor's Note
