Just Like I Told You

Just Like I Told You

A Poem by LlamaLord
"

the picture actually holds a very personal meaning. the line... "Because I'm clutching the only thing I have left" refers to the stuffed sheep in the picture. it comforts me when i hold it :)

"

And I'll drown myself in my own sweat, But you'll never know.
Because I'm clutching the only thing I have left. Memories wanting to go.

Oh, all the wretched thoughts splintering my heart with touch of grace.
As painful as they are deep, I cannot remove them. Engraved is your face.
Memories wanting to go. Carved by saints with tools gold. But you'll never realize
just how beautiful, your mind, soul, body, and heart were to me.

Heavenly bold, you strongly hold the only bit left of me worth grasping.
No longer is, "Do you love me?" worth asking. Forever and always
remaining in my heart, just like I told you.

Hmmm.....When I first read the poem, I was not sure for what it will hold.
I won't lie to you...But when I first read the opening lines, I was certainly not at all satisfied after reading them.
But as soon as the poem progressed, my interest in it started developing and by the time when I came at middle section...I was totally into it!
I'm not required to think twice to tell you which part I liked the most about it.
"No longer is, "Do you love me?" worth asking. Forever and always
remaining in my heart, just like I told you." - I simply loved these lines...They are so straight and raw yet so deep and intriguing. I absolutely loved them, because I was able to relate myself with it...
A very well penned piece of writing it is...and I'm surely going to add it in my favorites!
