Choices

Choices

A Poem by Tai Ryens

Does the correct answer lie obvious

In every challenge to our poise?

Just because it sounds positive,

Does that mean it was the right choice?

If I start acting with affable intentions,

Does it always lead to a champion’s results?

Nay.  For many of the truest do-gooders

Evolved into the cruelest cults.

It may sound right or wrong, but in reality,

Human conscience cannot be tamed;

For heaven may shine brightly,

But so do the flames.

I was reading book two of the Skinjacker series, and I read a line that inspired this. After reading that specific line, this kind of wrote itself. Enjoy.

Wow, it is hard to believe this writing comes from the mind of a young teenager! The rhyming and subtle diction is in concord. The philosophical application of your belief into the verse is very appealing. There are some people in society who are born with different tenets. They attempt to do something devious or plain wrong which according to them is only right and favorable. I think parental upbringing issues are behind this most of the time. Your writing covers a lot of refined thoughts tersely in context to the reasons why people harm others/transgress one way or another and move on with impunity.

This is flawless. The questions are intelligent and well written. They flow from one to the next. The answers are congruent with life and the questions. I love this poem. It's a great commentary on life and its dilemmas.

Great work.
