The Cherries of Comfort

The Cherries of Comfort

A Poem by Tai Ryens

The world roars in my deaf ears,
I do not listen.

Wind blows at a wisp of my hair
obscuring my vision,
my mirror shatters beneath
the weight of the world,
ripples of water cradle the
spaces between my toes.

And still I claim this world
does not want me.

you got me thinking there, my mind i think is a bit rusty now. This reminds me how we see the world, and how it mock us by accepting what's in store for us or how we keep understanding and learning the ways to avoid the negative void and in the end we stumble upon it again. I guess it matter how far we hold dear onto the light of our heart to show our own glory. Now, i think i am far off the intended meaning, hehe, but it is great to read from you my friend Tai. Very expressive piece.

welcome, my friend...
That was very nicely written, I loved the images there "The world roars in my deaf ears, i dont listen".
That was like , the world is trying to give you a certain message and you are ignoring it , you dont want to hear what the world wants to give you.
"And still I claim this world, does not want me". Or should it be you dont want it ?
that is how i seen it, well that was good job here, haha, it drove me to think , so im sure it is good :)

we do try sometimes to reject acceptance .. the two lines above speak to me the most ... almost like the world is the water and the comfort of the womb is always there ... always ready ... i like the perspective of your poem .. usually its the world that rejects .. nice one!

It's like being a ghost, or longing to want to be a ghost. You can see and feel these things, yet are in denial as to if you're really part of this world.
I like this one, it speaks of deep thought and casts a picture that provokes the reader to think themselves.
Well done. ^^

No problem. xD
regardless of all the signs, sometimes we just refuse to accept that we are accepted.
