Cannibalistic Delight

Cannibalistic Delight

A Poem by Tai Ryens
"

an earth, so white, so white

"

indulging in the presence of faulty existence,

where are the gravy bones i once gnawed on

as the world continued on its horrendous delight?

an earth so white, so white, so white,

repeating the pleonasm of unbiased faiths

                                               while i stood, differentiated,

confronting the impending wraiths of dead men,

devouring the world from whence i crawled

                                        from the dust of fallacy;

what fault derives from consuming what

                                          fate has handed me?

       now i digress with desire,

  setting forth the orgasm

 of teeth and tongue.

you're right, the fault doesn't lie in the cannibal for having accepted what he is. He is human, too, with human needs to express like we all do, there is no fault in that. Your choice of words make it so that the psychological complexity of a cannibals thought process is sugarcoated with an eerily lush beauty which I think is hard to pull off.
I wrote a poem on a similar topic if you're interested.
Kudos.

'Eerily lush' is the exact feedback I absolutely ~adore to receive. Thank you for reading.
Forced, perhaps, but I feel it is forced in a good way, just as whenever I am at the point of killing someone but FORCE myself to sit down and write bloody murder, not actually commit it. Maybe you didn't know this but I have a small fascination with cannibalism, and I must wonder if you do slightly as well.
" repeating the pleonasm of unbiased faiths" is a incredible thought among them.
Overall I am reminded of Heart of Darkness, a tale held close to my heart. When Marlow speaks of the cannibalistic black men who frighten the other colonists. "an earth so white, so white, so white" brought them to mind.
"what fault derives from consuming what
fate has handed me?"
I could go on for novels about this, but I'll simply say it reminds me of Hannibal.

There's nothing like an orgasm of teeth and tongue....not sure if this is a religious barb, or you haven't had your coffee yet, but love it!
