A Malicious Perfection

A Malicious Perfection

A Poem by Tai Ryens
"

From wherein the angel's heart does malice brew so cold?

"

From wherein the angel's heart does malice brew so cold?

Asperity awaits; looming beneath an elated demeanor

While my fingers danced atop a cherub's breast,

Undone by the footprints of those who wandered before me.

I need not you to speak of the past,

'Tis all written on your stomach.

Yet, is that not what you are?

Trampled petals, stomped by carelessness;

Quenching for thirst,

Yearning for the sun from under

The shadows of strangers,

Expecting a piece of you?

Why is it I chose you?

Amid the flourishing gardens of heaven,

O, you chose to lay on the brink of a canyon.

And I still caught your eyes.

Miles away,

Yet you enchanted me by a moment's sway,

And I wrestled death for you.

I ordered you be nurtured by the servants,

Humming lullabies that substituted love,

Watching your every branch bear fruit

As my mouth drools;

Without a taste but of a glance

towards your luscious cherries,

I knew you would be perfect.

This reminds me of the lust my friend has for someone else, and I must say it makes me angry because you captured it so perfectly, so good job. Excellent word choice as always Tai, keep up the good work.

Thank you, Riley.
Much like growing a tree only to steal away it's beauty; you revive this angel only to use her. Some people are malicious, some people are loving, some are both.
"Yet you enchanted me by a moment's sway,
And I wrestled death for you."
There are so many emotions and facets to this, I feel bitterness that grows into malice because of love un-proportionality returned.

Thank you; love does fuel the way for bitterness at times, does it not?

I was leaning towards destiny on this one; you know? Lovers thriving on lust.
