His Secret

His Secret

A Poem by Tai Ryens
"

Even holy blood has its consequences . . .

"

Metallic scarlet brushes the rim

of the abomination's cup;

the leftovers of slaughter

brought forth unto

unsuspecting prey;

victims of massacre

and unprovoked invasions.

And he sips it.

He did divert the attention

of armies, armed by blind faith,

towards the way to the different,

the slightly altered,

and he smiled

as they faced

genocide.

Centuries of forced labor

show themselves on his brow,

not his sweat however,

but the blood and waste

of men who worked

their asses off for him.

Following the declared evil

of the law,

he had formed the very

rebels of goodwill,

that laid hands on innocent

men, and shed civil blood.

And yet, he posed as a hero

leading the damnation of

the men that so ruthlessly

followed him.

And yet here we are,

worshiping them

as if they were our god.

Aaaaahh. After reading that I feel like smoking a cigar. Tai you're a brilliantly talented youth. This piece is epic. Someone could make a movie out of it

"men who worked
their asses off for him." Seems... blunt for you. It caught my eye. Neither good nor bad.... but I noticed it.

The vocabulary used in this is perfect for the subject at hand, you did a great job.
