Screeching Vinyl
A Poem by
Tai Ryens
Screech, Screech, SCREECH is all I can ever hear . . .
Vinyl
screeches
untrimmed nails scratch
at the spinning record
screech"
screech"
SCREECH"
is all
I can ever hear
who
would've predicted
my deafened ears
would
accustom
to
the glorious sound?

The onomatopeic devices used in this poem have certainly made an impact. Well it surely did on me and left me shuddering to the disturbing yet unique sound of the screeching vinyl! Wonderful!

I love records. They're cooler than cds.

I've heard that city noises do the same to small town people. They can't stand them at first but soon don't even notice the cars, sirens, etc.
Different from you, short... but still good. :)

Interesting, very different. Hard to make sounds with words! Thanks for sharing.

Well said. You made the sound come to life. (Mine is the chewing of ice. Can't stand it.)
Good write, sir.
