Haunted

Haunted

A Poem by Tai Ryens
"

Who I could've been . . .

"

Echoes do entice ripples amid

the still waters of my existence,

for I hear the pressure of judgment,

as well as the whispers of silence

ambitions for memories not-to-be

trap me within the walls of my heart,

left to reminisce prior moments no more

and the haunting adulation of past art;

left to grasp the remainder of who I could've been,

left with every vanishing dream gone stale,

had I only forsaken them long ago,

perhaps then I could've crawled out this shell

and presently am I imprisoned here,

left to endure strikes of hatred in this accursed house,

only then did I realize,

the malice resonated from my own mouth

the self-reflection and admittance of flaws are impressive but not as much as the last stanza...you have a new fan

The last stanza isn't my favorite either, and thanks.
Has an air of realization and self hatred that is sewn crudely through the lines. Rough and raw, but in a very good way. Nice.
