![]() Goddess of HorizonsA Poem by Tai Ryens![]() Not too satisfied with this . . .![]() My lovely goddess of the sun, how is that you illuminate the paths I walk, and glimmer down upon me with sparkling teeth; only to leave me, as you always do, the curse of the crescent moon?
This loyalty of mine, of which has been pledged to you, is sprawled on the dwindling tombstone; weathered by your hushed whispers and exasperated sighs
How many times have I gaped upon you, while others scuttle away into hiding as your weeps echoed across the land, yet instead of fleeing, I willingly drowned in the puddle of your tears
Night upon night, I sat awaiting your return, the heroic moment where you chase away the darkness of the evening, reveling in victory when it happens, and then lying in wait once more for your arising
Still, I rest beneath an insulting moon, and celebrate for your coming, but I cannot help but notice the shadows looming in; more than ever © 2012 Tai RyensAuthor's Note
