Lilith; whom I often refer as the goddess of lust in Christianology, was a major inspiration for this; along with the concept of a mime. Just thought I'd toss that out of the basket.

I love the way you present such conflicting emotions. It's quite the thrill ride, I must say. You have a talent that many will never possess. Well done.

Often do I see talent coupled with flaws; and I am plagued by it day by day.
"and mimicking love beneath Lilith's lantern" Love that line. Another classic Tai poem. I've often refured to a lilith like diety as "The W***e Goddess of Animal Instinct" at play in the spiritual realm of some of my sexcapades in the real world. Basically she's the sexual demention of Aphrodite before the Christians made her "pure." Tai my lad, you are the poet laureate
Such a terrible torment that resides within the lines of this poem.
The narrator knows this person, this other, and though the two share lust and desire with each other, there is a darkness. It's an interesting tale, he, the speaker locked in a sick affair with a whom that both brings out his desire yet at the same time disgusts him. And the way it is described, I get the feeling that he is trapped, forced to "mimic" what a real healthy relationship would be, but with this woman, whom he does not love. In following that, as the last stanza conveys, he knows that it is doomed to end horribly, in flames. Even as she runs away, to survive and find another in which to play "her game", he captures her, making sure she burns with him, whether out of spite, twisted passion, or to spare others, is unsure.
What a dark tale you here. I like it very much. It reminds me, in parts, of certain stories I have read or thought of in my mind.
I love the mention of Lilith too, by the way. She has very ancient origins and a good number of legends and epithets.
Well done my friend.
