Repercussions

Repercussions

A Poem by Tai Ryens
"

Should the halo of an angel have a different meaning?

"

Heaven sings along to your angelic

voice; tortured, melodic cries of ag'ny

mewed along to the dancing candle's wick;

which recently flared with your ecstasy.

Having forced your angelic voice to sing;

I've yet to face the repercussions due;

plucking feathers one by one out your wings;

know I do this only 'cause I love you.

But if I were to burn eternally;

eternal punishments n'ver to be fled;

curs'd love contained for you lies within me;

and so I steal the halo from thy head:

wearing not as a necklace, but a noose;

and so I fell, without a thing to lose.

{For you are destined to follow me}

Author's Note

Tai Ryens
Started off freeverse, ended up a sonnet. I think I'll take a mental note of the concept, then remake it later. I hope you do enjoy.
