Skeleton Romance

Skeleton Romance

A Poem by Tai Ryens
"

What am I; chopped liver?

"

Blending rotten marrow with another;

intertwining bare knuckles nibbled on by maggots:

beneath the glinting moonlight we saunter;

our empty ribs twinkling of hollow bliss.

My beloved, would you adore a flower bouquet

conceived of roses weeded from the shriveled meadows we've trod;

or perhaps an invitation to partake

in the banquet of eyeballs stuffed with visions we've sought?

Should you drain breath from my exasperated lungs;

might as well dissect everything else for stew:

hollow my brain of its thoughts, silence the words on my tongue;

slurping blood from my liver, not to mention my heart too.

Tai, my man. I got a good grasp of your genre now. I like it. This dark, twisted
humorous take on romantic love is chalk full of pick-up lines (At a friggin DonnerParty reunion, or in the middle of a Walking Dead episode, my favortite show by the way) OR you could use these recipes at your future mother-in-laws backyard barbacue, just don't tell anybody what the goodies really contain. But all kidding aside Tai I get what you've accomplished here, and it's good. Dark. And funny. I'll be checking out some of your other stuff for sure.

Sounds like something I wrote when life was doom and gloom. Not bad for a young man without a clue.

You should:)
I don't like this one as much as some of the others. The first stanza comes across as trying to hard. Sorry dude

I'm not too fond of this as well.
Hmm very twisted and contorted portrayal of love. I'll admit though, it gave me chills, but you wrote it well. Great write.

Chilling.

The inhumane cravings of love. It makes me think of some sort of Frankenstein attraction
A fatal one at that...

I suppose it's a phase. I look onwards, optimistically, to the day you write a poem lighter of heart.

Still.
Your phrasing is incredible and it leaves not much to say.
Chilling.
But a most addicting feeling at that.

100.
