The Tears

The Tears

A Poem by J.M. Barrett
"

This is the first song that I wrote for my friends album.

"
Verse 1:
Rewind to that moment, lets stay for a while
Entwined in the breeze that roams free like a child
It carries your scent and tells secrets untold
Forewarns with a whisper of the night that'll approach
Pause, lets stay here, I don't want to go
Chorus:
At the end of the day the sun will set
And all that I've ever known will have left
The moon rises with reflections of old
Shooting stars fall like the tears that enfold
Verse 2:
Pause to that moment, lets stay for a while
Where our love was a force untamed like a lion
Relentlessly capture my heart like your prey
Devour this organ, feed on it today
Hold on to that moment don't ever let it go
If this can't be real well then I don't want to know
Entangled in tendrils of hopeful illusions
I'm secluded in memories immune from intrusions
Chorus:
At the end of the day the sun will set
And all that I've ever known will have left
The moon rises with reflections of old
Shooting stars fall like the tears that enfold

Author's Note

J.M. Barrett
The chorus flows differently from the verses. That is because the music my friend gave me was like that.
