a man of his time,

an angel in disguise.

 

In the films

he dodged the planes

from north by north west,

baffling the  notorious as

he led the way

 to catch a thief.

 

His witty charm

and elegant nature

inspired the ladies

of Hollywood’s past:

Bergman, Hepburn

and Kelly were

but a few to name.

 

 

He made us understand

that life goes on and we,

like water, never really leave.

 

Such was a man,

enlightened in his trade

a great actor of clarity...
