naked trees.

naked trees.

A Poem by Laine Johnson

i shiver, violently, as i toss and turn in the night.
these dreams, so vivid, awaken as the consciousness in my mind
becomes an inescapable fate.
eyes open wide, your silhouette i can't escape.
not even if i were to hide. not even if i close my eyes.
there are words frozen on your lips.
you stand still, in your gray hoodie, ripped jeans.
cold as winter, breath drifting carelessly from your mouth like little white lies.
time
   has
     stopped.
...and we are as still as the naked trees looming over us.

Short, haunting, and really neat. You flesh out the scene remarkably well for writing so little. Very good.

A sad and lonely dreams. Dreams are the doorway to real life. Sometime hidden desires and needs are those wild and crazy dreams. I like the description and the ending. A excellent poem. Thank you.
