INTROVERSION

INTROVERSION

A Poem by songbirdwriting

If dark forests
are where I leave my footprints
then grant me the ability
to see the light not apparent before me

I am not a creature of this unmanageable habit
rather I suffer in every kind of silence

I have not a vocabulary
of piercing screams and pleas
at least
it is not a part
of the part
of myself that I know

If even I leave a single footprint
when I tread the forest floor so lightly
it is not something visible
to the eyes of this worlds creations

rather
my silence
my unspoken sentences
that are everything but poetic
must come from other places
as I have yet to find a puzzle
where a piece the shape of me will fit

Author's Note

songbirdwriting
This is the first thing I've written after having been out of the habit for a long, long time, so it is an attempt to get back into it.

This is very deep and says a lot. Very creative how you make the analogy of yourself to footprints left in the forest. I like this a lot.
