prince adrian

prince adrian

A Poem by S. Liberace

 Oh, my darling Prince Adrian,

How she beckons at your name,

And the stars could have loved no one better

Than you, my Prince, with no maim

On your skin or in your mind--

Perfect! Extraordinarily sublime!

The world offers you nothing, you say

Except beauty and dismay. You tell me:

While I, unlike she, am an open oasis,

Your fundamental basis

For support,

She, you say, she is an old fort

Of desire. "Venus", to quote, with

Her gas-envy chambers,

Her grit, her whip.

And while we are we,

We are nothing like the sea,

Or the Earth or the sky,

Who will always love you by

the way, without jealousy, without fret

(Nothing to worry or regret)

Even when you die at the hands of a cigarette.

Prince Adrian, I loved you,

Were you pleased to love me too?
