Steps for Tomorrow

Steps for Tomorrow

A Poem by LadyRouge

I take a

Long deep inhale.

Fill my lungs

And slowly exhale.

My control over this is vital.

I must keep going.

Hot sticky sensations

Cover my being.

A warm tingly

stimulates my senses.

Even so,

My pace quickens.

A gentle breeze

Graces my face,

A single

Moment of relief.

I keep going.

One foot

Infront of the other.

I'm aware of

My surroundings,

But a peaceful trance

Has taken over

I'm in the zone.

My breathe

Is heavy and

Muscles ache.

I'm content ... relaxed

And ready

For a shower.
