Assimilated

Assimilated

A Poem by LadyRouge

Societies disgraces,

Swallowed whole by the

Dis-ease of our very hour.

Helpless souls aching,

Fearful faces breaking.

A world that hasn't

Tried too hard.

People who forget

And never intent

To remember,

Hide away in there

Reluctant minds.

What about those

Misfortunate that life

TENDS to throw

Out the door....

Letting poverty rule

Everything people

SHOULD STAND FOR!

I don't really know how to review, but I will try to understand the meaning in this work (especially since the poet accepted me as a friend).
After reading, I felt the poet is very upset and angry with the way the people of the world ignore all the grief surrounding them. I think maybe the poet is concerned more about relationships amongst people rather than monetary entitlements.
Studying the picture, I see bees in a hive. Now bees, I know from my biology, work together totally for the group benefit or group survival. So I could miss the poet's intent completely. Oh well.

It is good to have this energy, I think. Such a force could be the motivation for change. There are so many little things one can do to effect harmony in the world. The simplest one I have found is to just smile at people as I (Jan and I) walk our dogs. Of course that doesn't change much, but who knows what could happened next.

Hope you have a good day, charly
