Words Change

I love you.

I need you.

I want you.

 

I hate you.

I’m all alone.

Everything hurts.

 

Twinge and ache.

Tears and gasps.

Love and loss.

 

I only want to hear three words …

“I love you”

I only hear five words …

“I’m breaking up with you”

 

Still I pray for something different.

To rewind it and change it.

To make you want me.

But every day I open

My eyes to this

Painful reality.
