Repulse!

Repulse!

A Poem by Veronica

Repulse spurs from my heart and spreads from my veins
to my blood and into my brain.
From my brain it explores its way into life.
My life.
Filled with the animosity and hate that has been
stirred from childhood.
The hate that makes me want to punch a hole in the wall,
it releases my anger and tension.
In a sense, it gives me new life.
A reason to lash out giving myself reluctantly to the
blank wall.
I'm hurt and I need to release.
Some way or another.
Whether it be good or bad.

I get the image of an artist waiting to fill a canvas. The emotions turn into colors spurned into a masterpiece in spite of the source of it all. I like the sprinkling of assonance as well. Whether intentional or not, it adds a layers and depth on top of what is already there. This is one to be proud of.
