Whimsical delivery

Whimsical delivery

A Poem by Millie Love

today the curtain falls
over the empty stage and hands clap
an echo follows, hollowed by the absence
of those that should accept this appraisal

today the curtain falls
over the imposing stillness of the setting
as nothingness bluntly impresses the audience's iris

today the curtain falls
as the cup lands back on its plate in a secret room

tomorrow, perverted literary needs will conscientiously raise them again
