Atlas On My Back

Atlas On My Back

A Poem by Lady Of The Wolves

The weight of the world is bringing me down

It's too much for me I swear I will drown

Why can’t life be easier that weighs like a feather?

All stress and weight held together

And just throw it all away

And never

Come back again

Eventually it will bounce back in

Taking over and controlling your brain

It won't be easy, it might be insane

It's like a beast in a cage, just not tamed

Why can’t it just go away?

Why isn’t there magic words to say

Just breathe, Breathe, Breathe

Count to 10

Breathe, tell yourself

It’s fine, it's me

And try to control it

And try to keep calm

And move on

This is simply amazing, I feel like this all the time and I can never put it into words, this possibly is one of the best poems ive seen on here because it just tells how we all feel yet we cant explain it but you did put it in words which is pretty impressive, bravo, and that I have a friend who has many reviews, Im wonder why you dont have as many as her

You did a really nice job of putting into words what many can't. You also gave it a great title and created it in a nice poetic way. Nicely done.

This was an amazing poem. I get so stressed out sometimes and when my parents ask me what's wrong I just can't seem to find the words to answer. You described everything so perfectly. Really great poem!!

I can even feel the stress ;) nice how you established a very uneasy, restless atmosphere.

Oh wow this was truly incredible.
I agree with Mr. Commentator, this perfectly expresses how you feel in a way that is so hard to explain, but you did.
I heard a quote once, "Death is lighter than a feather, duty heavier than a mountain."

While stress can be an anchor and or a led filled back pack upon our lives, it is also a tool in which teaches us our own limits, shows us we have the strength to continue to move forward. It's a teacher as well as a hindering agent in life. As we are the sum of everything we experience... without stress...we would all be far less than we are today.
I felt that your poem takes a good look at the basic questions that we all ask during times of high stress. We wish it were less, we have the want for it to morph and become something else...to simply leave us alone.

Nice ink!

I love the title, it is very creative! This is a great poem! My favorite is the last paragraph, it realistically depicts what we all tell ourselves when we are stressed. Nice job!
