Creations of Men

Creations of Men

A Poem by ladyoflalaland
"

Written while I was doing math homework. Just a reflection on numbers and mathematics in general. Free verse.

"

If numbers were created by man,

Then what am I but an artist of ink?

Of someone else’s blood

Of someone else’s, some other

Civilization’s, vast and bloodshed’s, work

Someone else’s birth and death

Someone else’s time, time spent

Creating numbers I would spend hours

Hours of my life, to solve

Only so that in a hundred years

In another bloodshed and vast civilization

They can take my numbers and add them up

Adding up my life and adding up my time

Adding on to it and creating a chain

Stretching across the entire universe

Stretching across my entire life.

On one piece of paper.

I'm not super happy with having all the apostrophes, so ignore that. But, otherwise, all constructive criticism is welcome, thank you.
