Speech

A Poem by ladyinjury
"

"Why won't you share with us?"

"
3/20/12

I envy them, and I pity them.
Why? Because it’s all out.
They can never take it back,
or make someone forget.

You’ve lost control of it; it’s gone.
It will never be yours again,
a secret to keep and hold.
You’ve lost it.
You’ve failed again.
And now everyone will know.

There isn’t a switch me,
one that I can flip on and have work.
I can’t just sit down and pour out my soul.
I’m sorry, but it doesn’t work like that.
And, really, it never will.

It doesn’t even matter,
that the only way out is through
because I am done catering to you.
