I dream in black and death

I dream in black and death

A Poem by Danielle Duff

dreams of

running, running, always running

dreams of

something chasing, chasing, always chasing

dreams of

death, death, always death

I have to keep running, running, running

They come to me in the night

figures, dark and shadowy

voices, hoarse and whiserpy

faces, with no eyes

bodies, with no souls

I scream

but I can't speak

I claw

but I can't move

I'm paralyzed

suffocating on my fears

Every night it's the same

I want to know

when can I stop running?
