Piercing Drops and Whispers

Piercing Drops and Whispers

A Poem by Faelyn ó Cuilinn
"

Tir na nOg and a story for the books of olde.

"

Many a part have I made clear

in this journey, you travel here.

THe wish in the stars made in the night.

THe stars continually burning bright.

The dream of the paranoid dance with sidhe.

Like whispers on the faerie mound display.

The covered crystals that beckon and fall.

Near death that will become us all.

Never touch the blessed mound.

Don't touch the sacred and unfound.

This is a travesty of the ancient Gaels,

the terrible words in the ships sails.

The whisper what peace can be found?

For Tir na nOg, thy soul is bound.

So rest on a peacful shores of our fathers

and let the rain glisten to the piercing drops whispers...

This intriguing and mysteriously beautiful poem is almost completely enigmatic with charm and fantasy and legend. It evokes feelings of a far-off and unattainable nature, in a sense like a spell from a wistful witch's recipe..
There seems to be a mixture of both darkness and lightness existing simultaneously, rather like existence itself..
The piece as a whole leaves me with an image I can only liken to a scene from the film Excalibur when King Arthur, fatally wounded in his final battle, is borne away by angelic vestal virgins to a mytical island, the route to which they only know - his spirit there to be rested..
I am not familiar with the legends and lore of your country, but I am left with the impression that I feel them...
