Rumor Has It

Hair the color of sunset hues

Eyes as green as kelp

Legend has it

She swims the seas

Only to be of help

Many a fisherman's seen her

A tail like that of fish

Scales and gills

With womanly frills

Is a dying seaman’s wish

Many a ship in peril

Victims of stormy seas

Say just a glimpse

Of an ocean nymph

Brings luck to a captains plea's

So a place of faith and honor

Is bestowed upon the bows

Of vessels with the history

That has carved the mermaid mystery

According to folklore trow
