Rumor Has ItA Poem by Pointblankwritten for the Sea Creatures contest
Rumor Has It
Hair the color of sunset hues Eyes as green as kelp Legend has it She swims the seas Only to be of help
Many a fisherman's seen her A tail like that of fish Scales and gills With womanly frills Is a dying seaman’s wish
Many a ship in peril Victims of stormy seas Say just a glimpse Of an ocean nymph Brings luck to a captains plea's
So a place of faith and honor Is bestowed upon the bows Of vessels with the history That has carved the mermaid mystery According to folklore trow PB 9/5/08 © 2008 Pointblank |
