Flow

Flow

A Poem by Pointblank

You take the sidewalk

I’ll walk on dirt

You can wear your shoes

I’ll go barefoot

You fight for your rights

I just let things slide

You hold it all in

I have nothing to hide

Why are you so loud

When making a stand

I like to fly under the radar

Whenever I can

However we connected

Twenty years ago

Two lonely people

Going with the flow

We had to finish what we started

School, jobs and kids

Doing what we thought was right

And that we did

Now we both have no idea who we are

Going with the flow that got us this far

We stare past one another

We are sociable at best

We will eventually have to face

That there is really nothing left

Then there’s you being steady on the sidewalk

And me carefree in the dirt

Wonder who will settle for this life

And who will leave it first
