Discarded Heart

Discarded Heart

A Poem by Pointblank

Discarded Heart

Take this piece within my chest

Rid me of it, I feel it's best

It not connect with my hopeful mind

I'd like to leave that far behind

I can fool my thoughts to believe

That you loved me just for me

but I could never tell my heart to buy

and trust tis true that awful lie.

The heart, naive, full of emotion. The mind, twisted, full of compromise. The horrors that the mind commits through tricking the heart, though not for long, and it never stays to deal with the pain.
