What's next?

What's next?

A Poem by Pointblank

It rained on my birthday

Again at my wedding

I got snowed in at the airport

No honeymoon I’m getting

Then my grandma died

I was the last one to know

And when that happens

There’s two more to go

On girls night out the baby got sick

My car window was smashed

By an old boyfriends brick

Sunroof won’t open

When the stars are all out

Now after my facelift

I can’t even pout

I made a salad for two

And I’m all out of dressing

Tomorrow’s a new day

Well, that’s just depressing.

Okay, I feel bad - I chuckled. It had that certain "the wife left me, but why did she have to take the dog - I really liked that dog" attitude to it. I felt myself standing out in the rain next to the car, looking at the keys in the ignition, the door locked, looking up to the Heavens above and asking, "Are you freaking kidding me?"

True it was depressing but humor showed through as well. I hope you did well in the contest. Must say not being able pout after a facelift when so much depression is going on would be ....well can't think of the right word! Sorry about that, hope you got my meaning. Hope you have a good day!

I thought this was well-written, and I liked the expression. If all this happened to you, I am sorry. However, you may want to consider more humorous verse such as this one. I think you have a gift for humorous expression.
