I’m sorry your hurt

I feel your sorrow

For your friends and fellow soldiers

that won’t see tomorrow

There aren’t any excuses or reasons

And I won’t give you any

Just know you touch souls

And protect the loves of many

Someone here thanks you

And you do still belong

To the moms and dad’s

Husbands and wives

Daughters and sons

We need you

We always have

Yes you’ve changed

And that’s okay

Just don’t drive us away
