Forever Love

Forever Love

A Poem by Nina Love

I wear a necklace of roses,
The thorns point in, at my throat.
It is my sorrow and shame,
It is my guilt and my pain.
I have a cage of panther teeth,
They hold in my heart.
My collar of roses tightens,
Drawing blood.
My panther-teeth cage closes,
Choking my heart.

I wear a hummingbird in my hair,
Her wings beat as my joy.
I have a sun and moon
They shine brightly in my skin,
They show my love glowing within.
My hummingbird sings and fly's;
Heartbeat bounding.
My sun and moon glow brighter,
Warming my heart.

Do you feel my roses when you kiss along my neck?
Does the cage of panther teeth change the beating sound of my heart?
Can you see the jade blur of my hummingbirds wings when you smile at me?
Do you glow too,
With your own sun and moon?

You glow in my eyes
You glow in my heart
You glow like embers in the hearth;
Forever warm.
Forever.... Love.
