Chapter two

Chapter two

A Chapter by Elisabeth
"

Jaron's deep dark secret is told to elle.

"

He drove it  into an underground garage and parked it. She stepped off the bike and placed her helmet on the seat.
"Jaron" She said in a deadly calm voice.
"Yeah" He knew this voice she used it whenever she was really extraordinarily angry.
"Explain what is going on right this instant or I swear I am going to castrate you"
"Okay I do not really know how to say this"
"I swear to God if you say you are gay I am going to punch you" She glared
"No it is a little more serious than that. Elle I am a vampire" Elle was silent her lips turned white but her expression did not change other than that.

"Elle, Love? Are you Okay I know-" She cut him off with a swift uppercut, the surprise knocking him back a foot or two.
"That is not f*****g funny Jaron! What the f**k stupid game are you playing at?" She fumed,
"Elle calm down"
"I will not calm down. I thought you were mature Jaron. I thought we had something special and then you pull a trick like this!" She glared and as usual he was as calm as a cucumber.
"Please come upstairs with me and I will explain" He pleaded holding out his hand.
"Fine" She reluctantly took his hand. She loved him but she hated being jerked around or lied to so she was more than a bit irritated with him right then and she made sure he knew it.  He took her to an elevator and soon she found herself in a lush sitting room. There were ornate couches and desks and it basically looked like the setting for a typical Victorian household. She half expected some old fat man in a suit to come up with some red velvet rope and tell her not to touch the  antiques with her grubby little fingers.
Old men generally tell women  of 25 that they have grubby little fingers right?

"Finally" Elle turned her head and saw at the foot of some huge marble steps there was a little girl sitting down with her head in her heads.
"Shush Trix" Jaron said quietly not turning his head and continuing to pull Elle along.
"Who is that?" Elle asked continuing to look at the little girl with the bouncing red hair and mischievous green eyes.
"That is my sister"
"Since when did you have a sister?" She asked turning her head around as they walked through a set of doors.
"Since just ah this is so hard"
"Yes I am sure this is so hard for you seeing as how you know what is going on" At this Jaron stopped.
"It was only an hour ago you confirmed you wanted to spend the rest of your mortal life with me" As he said this he cupped her chin in his hands and looked deeply into her eyes. She looked back and she felt warmth and love and trust.
"Okay, I trust you" They kissed and he silently led her for a while until they came to a library an old man sat behind a large oak desk. He had long white hair and his skin looked fragile yet at the same time tough sort of like porcelain. He sat straight and tall and did not look up from his desk where he was intently reading a stack of papers. Jaron gestured for Elle to sit but she refused with a fiery glare, he threw up his hands and sat down.

"Jaron" The old man spoke still not looking up "Why is she here?" He asked gesturing with a pen at her.
"Well we are engaged and-"The old man cut him off
"You really should give more notice for these things" The old man said in the tone of a rather bored and disappointed parent.
"I am sorry sir it is just-"
"What is done is done, Now, Elle what do you know?"
"I know this is not a funny joke Jaron"
"what joke?" The old man asked Jaron who promptly shrugged.
"He said he is a vampire and I am supposed to believe and he has don't it right after we got engaged so it is really immature"
"Why is it every humans first instinct to deny that vampires exist" The old man sighed.
"Because it is true, now I am leaving"
"Sorry Sir she is really stubborn"
"I can see why you love her"
"Elle please just hear us out"
"Why? Jaron this was supposed to be a special occasion and you pull this s**t its like you are five!" She all but screamed.
"Five minutes, Please" His eyes won her over and she sat down, Jaron moved to stand behind the old man.
"Yes vampires do exist now forget everything you know about vampires it will make this easier. One we can go out in the daylight we just burn fairly easily Two  we need not need to drink blood but most of us do it is sort of like an alcohol addiction, Third we never change someone against their will or kidnap anyone or anything like that. We are civilized in fact more civilized than you humans. We do eat just like every other animal. We are still human think of it as Caucasian, Asian,  African, vampire sort of thing" The old man explained she could see his sharp canines.
"Why should I believe you?" She asked doubtfully, suddenly at precisely the same time Elle blinked Jaron was in front of her on his knees her hand in his.
"Because I love you and I have never lied to you before"
"You kept this from me" Tears welled up in her eyes "Remember when I told you I got this scar" She pulled up her shirt a bit to show a long white scar "From a  biking accident and then you found out it was from my father"
"Yes I remember"
"You freaked out and  said we shared everything"She ripped her hand from his grasp.
"Our laws state-"
"I don't care!" She stood up so quickly her chair fell back.
"Elle please calm down!"  He was standing and holding her arms.
"You do not touch me right now Jaron" She said coldly.
"Look you two need to be alone go up to the room you used last time you stayed here" The old man said in a dismissive tone as if they were having a minor spat and no one was crying.
"Come on" Jaron said and she distinctively saw his sharp canines she shuddered. He led her out of the room and down more hallways she walked just slightly beside and behind him still angry and still not wanting him to touch her. They saw Trish again she was sipping something, as she came closer she spoke.
"Hey so how did she take it"
"Not well" Jaron said in a dismal tone, Martina could smell it, it was the distinctive taste of blood. This cute short woman was drinking a glass of human blood. Martina fainted dead away.
