![]() Unchained HeartA Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne![]() In my heart… What I thought to be love Was simply my own desire So brief Gone, before time could tell It even happened Like a whisper barely heard In the stillness of the night Riding on winds of faery dust and love potions Sprinkling their enchantment On the canvas of my heart
I tell myself it’s gone But in the same breath A voice whispers quietly to my heart Telling me That perhaps you may have really cared I tell myself it wasn’t meant to be But in my remembering I find that thought elusive It weaves its memories in and out Like a needle sewing its fragile threads Delicately enlacing them Amongst the filigrees of my mind
The magic… So mysteriously enchanting Like the magical dust of a dream I tell myself its over But my heart refuses to listen My mind says to forget you That no one is worth this sadness My soul doesn’t need this heartache I tell myself I didn’t really care That is was all a momentary illusion Some kind of strange confusion But… I never did lie very well ______________________________________________
