California's Burning

 All around us
these horrid things are said and done.
What us humans seem to forget and to respect-
is being destroyed-
and change starts with one.

Can we not keep one thing beautiful, in this great land?
I could help out and stop this, but we get scorned for taking a stand.

All that I see-
Burning.
Burning.
Burning.
Doesn't anyone see this is wrong but me?

They have passed it off for awhile,
thinking things can be fixed-
but really they are just in denial
and this is the first of many a glitch.

This gorgeous land is slowly being ruined.
It is one of the only places left and no flowers are to bloom.

Is this a wake up call,
to our society?
We can't really have all that we want.
The world is not our property.

I watch on the news when california was burning
That so sad. I used to live in CA.
This is a well written, feelingful write.
