Conspicuously Silent

Your words are weightless and lack all worth
The louder you scream, the weaker your curse
You demand our eyes with your futile cries
But we’re too focused on the meek ones, the most wise.

So shout until your throat bleeds, screech
and screech, we won’t be listening
We find keen clarity in silence
and in your obnoxiousness, obscurity.

I believe you're describing the essence of self-discipline; the ability to block-out all other voices, except your own, and stay the course of righteousness. Still, this is a goal for most of us. Regrettably, we're too often affected by others' "words" and "obnoxiousness." I look forward to reading more of your work on here.

I was inspired to write this by waiting at Captain D's for my food and there were two obnoxious and ignorant workers and poof, this came out lol.
