Last GoodbyeA Poem by LaCherish T.Something that just came to me while listening to Inside Out by Eve 6. Enjoy!
Why don’t you just tear me apart?
You’ve already scorned my heart
We do this over again, will this cycle ever end?
If I had a dime for every single lie,
I wouldn’t need this song, I’d already be rich
This love was toxic, but not as lethal as you
You played me like a fool, but I can never get over you
This is sick, you make me sick
But I’m addicted, can’t get enough of it
Your empty heart, your bruising kisses, your searing touch
You love me just how I like it, no softies purely rough
So, you lead me on, then hide me back in the dark
This love is twisted, baby we missed the mark
I gotta end this before you play me like the fool I am to you
I thought you were my home
But, when I’m with you I feel so alone
Maybe if you kiss me one more time, I could let you go
Then I’ll whisper in your ear
Tell you the lies you wanna hear
We’ll give it to each other right, for one more night
But, this time, this time
Will be our last goodbye
This is the last goodbye
Before you make me think twice
Think of all the lies, we’ve shared
All the times we pretended to care
When our love was never there
Softly whisper in my ear
Tell me the lies I wanna hear
Give it to me right, for one last night
This time is our last goodbye
But baby, I’m a fool so maybe we can give it one more try
