Memories Of You

Memories Of You

A Poem by laceyjane23
"

a poem I wrote about my grandmother, who passed away recently. She meant the world to me and my life will never be the same without her.

"

"There's a place in my heart reserved just for you"

I carry in my heart,

memories of you.

All we have done.

Everything you taught me to do.

Many joys and much laughter.

You've always been there.

When the world delt me pain,

you showed me care.

Through the storm,

you brought the sun.

Knew just how to make me smile,

before the day was done.

Knew just what to say,

knew just what to do.

To fix a bad day,

I turned to you.

You left a footprint in the sand.

A legacy you left behind.

The gentle touch of your hand,

could ease pain of any kind.

Always knew how to express your love.

You taught me right from wrong.

Now your watching from above,

teaching me how to be strong.

It's hard now that we're apart.

Heaven called you home to stay.

Now I have to make a new start.

But you still help me start everyday.

I carry in my heart,

these memories of you.

I carry in my heart,

my precious grandma Lou.

An amazingly beautiful tribute to your Grandmother. I bet she is so very proud of you. You have a wonderful gift of ink and this piece is so heartfelt. I am willing to bet that your writing here reached all the way up to her ears in Heaven. :)

She is gone but never forgotten.. because she has such a wonderful granddaughter who loves her so.

Lovely...
