An Ode To LongingA Poem by labyrinthapathyThe plague that haunts me lately.
You haunt my dreams
In beautiful choreography, nights spent together, Arm in arm with none another care... The nightmare begins when I stir myself awake And stumble harshly upon the fact that I lie alone. Even now... The palpitations, the forced passages of my discolored blood, Bring me down to a level I haven't known since you last cured them for me. Do you call upon the birds? Harbingers of the morning, a steady reminder that the night is over Only lodged for the summer, unsatisfied with the company Singing only how nature conducts How molecules aligned themselves in perfect fashion Suites of red to bring out a smile, Leagues of black to shroud you... Even now... I found myself returning every thought to you.
