Scandinavian passion

Scandinavian passion

A Poem by Wayfaring stranger

Island is on surface of light
Lonely boat and women in white
Cold black stones are around shore
Sounds of birds --under--sea--

Fiction weather--fire---rain--
Sorrowful---screen---play
Inside of broken judgement
Martydom is Europe soul

Passion for Liv-Ulman
Cold-stone-death-island
Existencial-pregnancy
Stabing-throbbing-suffering-

Cosmos of naked light
A letter of admirations
Impresionistic word of art
Persona in shame of passion heart

This feels very intense- like it’s summing up a mountain’s worth of emotional content, or the development of humanity’s soul. It has a quality like myth, but also like one’s own narrative and that mixture, for me, makes the poem feel very rich.

The ‘lonely boat and woman in white’ makes me think of a last person left alive scenario. I always wonder about those kinds of things. I think people tend to wonder if a single human can go on alone. Perhaps there is a need to believe we are resilient enough to triumph, but without miracles or time travel, the eventual finality will deliver itself.

I’m not sure where that came from, ha. The poem’s spirit, I think, led me down that path of thought, though I feel certain that is not what the poem is about. There are hidden triggers in the poem that initiate certain pictures in my mind. It makes the short poem feel as complete as a novel, to me.

A poem I would keep reading over. Great work.
