Rearranging The Darkness

Rearranging The Darkness

A Poem by Jobbs
"

Setting back the clock on a barren rock

"

a harsh dawn will fill the sky

all heads turn to the angel of death

who sows sorrow in blinding light

when oblivion pours in from the horizon

an abhorrence built with cannibal need

to feast on life, to tear from brother

to mar the earth and taint the air

solace forged from annihilation

as the land burns in phoenix flames

the people will dance until they lay still

a chasm of graves with smoldering coals

in the wake of deafening silence

when the world is reborn in the falling sun

the days of men are lost to night

and as the dust settles to cover the past

who will emerge to rearrange the darkness?

Sounds like a really bad ex, lol. Great poem jobbs, the metaphor, the imagery, this is solid poetry in it's truest form. It's end them as well couldn't be more correct. "Rearranging the darkness", for that's all men really do in time of strife, no improvment, just manipulation. A kind of bleak outlook on humanity, but hell, at least its supported by lines like "an abhorrence built with cannibal need", hard to argue with that. Very hard indeed.

Wow, it was written like a testamonial from Revelations!! I could literally see the scorched bodies dancing as hellfire rained down on them. I really like this one and knew I would by the title. I am definitely adding you as a friend so I can go back and read more of your work later.

This is wonderful! It paints a frightening picture of a progressive, angry, emptiness, consuming anything in it's path.
