Don't Ask

Don't Ask

A Poem by Bear Girl

You ask because you know.
Whispers carry,
Knowing glances are read.
Words said quickly, are long-lasting and heavy.

You ask because you know.
Truth reveals,
Masked feelings are unveiled.
Trust, once broken, is fragile and messy.

You ask because you know.

Even when we know the brutal reality we still ask that it be spelled out for us. We beg for pain. The lights come on and we are exposed. Scary as hell but maybe relief. Words become venom and our posture sells us out. This is smart writing that captured a mood that so many have experienced. Nice work.
