I Drink Your Words

I Drink Your Words

A Poem by Bear Girl

I drink your words,
Seductively sipping with desire.
Like velvet carressing my tongue,
They are fruit and spice; Smoke and chocolate.
Their scent fills my lungs.
I breathe them in and feel heady; drunk.
Slowly, they trickle down my throat and I sigh.

I drink your words,
Shooting them back with impatience.
Like fire searing my lips,
They are danger and impulse; Recklessness and abandon.
Their heat fills my core.
Their warmth numbs my senses and I feel bolder; excited.
Greedily, I seek another and float away.

I drink your words,
Gulping them down with relish.
Like coolness slaking my thirst,
They are relief and rest; Refreshment and clarity.
Their touch bathes my soul.
I soak up their life and feel renewed; alive.
Syllables drip down my neck and I shiver.

 I drink your words.
