Forgotten Memory

Forgotten Memory

A Poem by Bear Girl

Memories flash
Feelings clash
Reckless love of youth collides with you.
Was it there, in the air - a ghost of a breath?
Did it whisper in your ear - did you hear?
Or was my imagination taking hold?

Look back again
To what might have been...
Is it too late to be?
Is it so hard to see
You had a hold on me?

...I never did.

Look back again
To what might have been -- I have so often thought these words, and even said a derivation of them to a few people. I have been in this place before, the wondering, the longing, the holding out of hope despite the fact that whether you want to believe it or not the affair was doomed from the start.

*sigh* this puts me in a melancholy mood, but not in a bad way. I enjoy feeling forlorn from time to time...I've read about too many butterflies and daisies today :)
