When your afraid, when your in love.

" I love you" he said,
Eyes searching eyes
"No, I love you more", he said,
Fingers grazing skin.

Maybe it was the sincerity;
The depth, the greed,
That made her sputter,
That made her question.

"Is this a joke?" She asked And he and he laughed,
"Is this a joke" she gasped,
And he and he laughed,

"Oh its April fools" she sighed,
And he and he grinned,
And she, she laughed, not seeing,
Them crying, them dying,

Them falling, them plunging,
Deeper into each other,
Farther from acceptance,
Them fighing and praying

To show the world, oneday, That it was never a joke,
That it wasn't just in April,
But that they were fools in love.
