Made of StarsA Poem by kyoungBefore the earth was thought of Or even did exist A skybound star lifetimes away Was Withering to dust Its burning fuel was running out So it began to dim With the last of its vivacity The stellar beauty burst Her moieties spread across the void Untethered by the air Iotas eagered through infinitude In the cosmic mire This tiny fractions came together In tenuous relation Parts of every star that ever passed Drawn by gravitation The stardust came to create a mass Making something huge The center began to burn and melt A living centrifuge A chronology of fire elapsed Beauty in its burn The surface was impassioned Until the ground was born For epochs after was a sphere of sea Barbaric in its ways Until at last the interior erupted Causing land to rise A spectacle it was to witness The forest that became The plants took root and grew up Alive to wide acclaim Gingerly, sea creatures tried At breathing in the air They took steps upon the shoreline traveling with care Gills to lungs and fins to feet A wild reckless place But one stood out above the rest It was the human race That is our history in short That is us so far Let us never become upset For we are made of stars
