Do You?A Poem by SimplicityJust a poem. It's a little bit about friendship, but I guess more on the dark side.My smile is bitter, My eyes are dead. Do you see the difference, Of the last time I genuinely smiled, And the bittersweet one you see right now?
Do you notice, I’m in my own world, Running from here? Only, no matter how far I go, I’m still here, in this place I call hell.
Do you listen to all those little details, That shows you I’m not really what you see? Or do you brush it off as some ‘phase’, as always? Do you see what I have become? The enigma I can’t even comprehend?
When you finally see, What will you do? Will you still have my back, Or throw me to the sharks?
I wait for the day, That you will see my eyes, And notice life, And see my smile, And see the true joy in my face. But until then, I wait for the day You finally see what’s underneath the surface. © 2008 SimplicityAuthor's Note
